is abbreviated from “Democracy and Science”.
The Philosophy of “Democracy and Science” had an important
influence on Chinese history and it stands for D&S Law
Firm’s mission to be in pursuit of democracy and science in
practicing law.
As one of the earliest partnership law firms in China, D&S
Law Firm was established in March 1994. Since then, the Firm
has shown steady and sustained growth both in the number of
lawyers and range of services.
To date, D&S has been developed into a legal service institution
of relatively large scale and great popularity, with its branches
in Guangzhou, Wuhan, Changsha, Beijing, Macao and a Representative
Office in Toronto, Canada. Currently D&S Law Firm has
a pool of over one hundred experienced lawyers supported by
eminent legal experts.
D&S Law Firm has accomplished various achievements, including
the following:D&S was awarded the title of “Guangdong
Province-wide Distinguished Law Firm” in 1998；D&S was
recognized as “The Outstanding Contributor in Social Welfare”
in two consecutive years of 2002 and 2003；D&S was honored
as “The Unit of Integrity and Faithfulness of Zhuhai City”
in 2003，and it stood out from the crowd of excellent delegations
of all other law firms to win the Championship for The First
and The Second TV Debate Contest of Lawyers in Zhuhai.D&S
was recognized by All China Lawyers’ Association as one of
the 115 Nationwide Outstanding Law Firms in 2005.
Dr. Shaojun He, one of the initiators of D&S was even
honored as “Nationwide Outstanding Lawyer” and was hired as
the Legal Advisor to Xiangzhao District Government.Senior
Lawyer Dr. Youming Wu and Senior Lawyer/Executive Director
Mr. Xiandong Wang were hired as the Legal Advisor to Municipal
Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Zhuhai in recognition
of their contribution to governing the city in the framework
of law.
